What to Expect from Gum Contouring
Gum contouring is an in-office dental procedure performed using a mild local anesthetic. We may offer additional sedation options if you have anxiety or fear about receiving dental work. Before the treatment, your gums and teeth will be professionally cleaned. Dr. Gardy can then use a special laser tool to remove unnecessary gum tissue until a more balanced gumline is revealed. The laser seals the soft tissue for minimal bleeding throughout the process. Once your gums are contoured, Dr. Gardy will clean your mouth so you may see your results. In most cases, gum contouring will be done in a single appointment.
